900-1 The January Birthstone Fairy Baby
Our first baby is all decked out for the New Year with a sash that is just right for noting the year or maybe your own Fairy Baby's birthday and weight! This 12" appliqué design features the traditional flower for January, the carnation, combined with "garnet" jewels on the wings and in small star flowers. The figure is shaded of course, as are all of Margo's fairies, but quilters will delight in being able to change the flowers and gems as they choose to create a delightful design.

900-2 The February Birthstone Fairy Baby
Amethyst is the gem stone for February and violets are the traditional flower but of course, Margo has her own ideas about that! For the very first time there is a "Margo Story" included with this delightful and very adaptable appliqué design. Quilters may omit the facets on the gems, move both flowers and leaves around and use only one wing for the Fairy Baby if desired. When metallic fabrics are used for the amethysts, velvets for the leaves and craft jewels for the highlights of the wings or even as dew drops, any quilter will enjoy creating a project with this design.

900-3 The March Birth Stone Fairy Baby
The March Fairy Baby is "stopping to smell the flowers" even if this tiny one seems to have forgotten underwear! Daffodils or jonquils are the Flower of the Month while lovely aquamarines are scattered about our Fairy Garden. Margo has put a lot of detail in both the flowers and the 'gems' and recommends fusible techniques especially for the wings which involve small pieces of fabric and reverse cuts. Of course, quilters may omit the 'star' facets if desired to make putting the block together faster or they may even substitute craft gems if desired. An alternative stone for March is the blood stone which is green with speckles or dustings of red. The daffodils are quite detailed as well, with folds on several of the petals but they will be beautiful in any array of colors.

900-4 The April Birth Stone Fairy Baby Daisies and Diamonds are this little Fairy Baby's best friends it seems and of course that makes for a delightful design for quilters to create. There's actually a little story about this one too! You see, Margo's daughter Jennifer is a red head who, when she was little, wore her long hair in braids and her birthday happens to be in April! Quilters may, of course, change the hair color and the wings to create more or less points and the flowers may be moved around. Three 'diamonds' also give a wide array of choices for the final design.

900-5 The May Birth Stone Fairy Baby OOPS! This little fairy is rather 'cheeky' it seems! Margo's Fairy Baby is a delight this month, gathering Lilies Of The Valley and playing with glittering emeralds. Quilters will also be delighted with this very adaptable design from the 2007 BOM as they arrange the Lilies and the leaves to suit themselves. The 'emeralds' are done in layers of appliqué so that quilters may choose a variety of sizes for their 'baby' to play with. The wings may be as detailed as a quilter chooses too as the 'emeralds' may be omitted if desired.

900-6 The June Birth Stone Fairy Baby What could be sweeter than a Fairy Baby? Maybe one snuggling with this month's flower? Our Fairy Baby this month loves roses and rose buds and so will quilters. Pearls of all shapes and sizes are scattered through the design and of course, quilters may add them to the 'wee' wings too. The full blown roses are exceptionally versatile too, and ready for quilters to raid their stashes for tones of red, pink, yellow or maybe even blue!
