The Holiday Fairy Wreath BOM - 2005

'Tis said that somewhere, in the mists of legend and fable, that there are secret places that only the fairy folk know about.  These places may be found in a dewdrop, a flower petal, perhaps 'way out back behind Grandpa's old garage or in a quilt will be where young and old alike discover where the fairies play.  Although close to the Wee Village and Olde Towne, the Realm of Fairies exists only for those imaginative enough to see what others miss.

750-01  The January New Years Fairy Wreath
There's a fresh breeze blowing in the New Year, sweeping away old troubles, worries and mischief and this little fairy is taking full advantage of it!  She's ready to soar on the slightest breeze along with her pet 'flutter'.
The wreath is one of the most adaptable in the entire 2005 BOM too!  Ribbons twine with easy flowers over and through a star shield background and around a second star that may be offset, eliminated or placed around the block to 'help' the ribbons if the larger section isn't used.
Flowers have 'petticoats' that may be flipped and turned to create different blooms and the Flutter is extremely detailed too.

750-2  The Valentines Day Fairy Wreath
This is a full 20" so that you can mix and match with both the Seasonal Fairy Wreaths AND the Four Seasons Wreath Suite.  Our duo of Fairies for February seem to be having a bit of a falling out.  Perhaps she's miffed at getting just flowers and no candy.  In any case, quilters are going to have so much fun rearranging flowers, fabrics and hairstyles on our Wee Friends!  You can even change her dress!  Use both style of wings for the 'flutter' or just one!

750-3  The Shamrock Fairy Wreath
Oh, it's windy in March and our Shamrock Fairy is holding onto her hair do and her skirt!  She's a delight with either long or short hair and she even comes with a light fluttery short skirt.
You don't have to be Irish to love creating projects with this Fairy either as she will be just at home with roses from the Seasonal Wreaths or any combination you choose.  Even her 'Flutter' is very adaptable and will change wings as you choose to provide even more originality.

750-4 The April Easter Fairy Wreath
All right, Margo knows Easter didn't come in April of 2005 but she couldn't resist doing a 'flutter-bunny'!  He's the perfect companion to our Easter Fairy who is sporting her own ears and tail for the occasion!
Of course, there is an actual 'flutter' design and a separate motif for the rabbit and our Fairy has long or short hair with or without ears.  The delicate ribbon border even has some surprises as the center oval may be made a wild hand dyed fabric for 'Easter Eggs' or you could embellish them as you choose.  WHAT? YOU WANT MORE OPTIONS?  The lilies are so easy to do!  The two lower ones are exactly the same but just rotated so that you can create wonderful bouquets, corners, circles and more just by moving the motifs a bit and you can change the colors to create tiger lilies, star lilies and more!

750-5 May Mothers Day Fairy Wreath
She's delightfully dreamy! and oh! she even has her baby with her!!  Margo's May Fairy is surrounded by violets and poppies that will have quilters arranging swags, borders, wreaths and more as they change colors and settings.
The fairy herself is one that quilters will love to appliqué!  Two different skirts will give them options for embellishment although they can certainly create their own designs for her as well!
Baby Violet can be turned of course, to chase the 'flutter' or pick flowers while her mother holds onto a foot!
Our flutter is a little spiky thing this month that is just crying for embellishment.  Little dots on the wings that echo 'his' fairies wings could be pearls, sequins or even buttons.

750-6 The June Bride Fairy Wreath
Simple and elegant whether you want to create a Fairy Princess Bride, a Southern Belle or a fairy going to a Fancy Ball!  Margo kept the wreath very simple this month to allow quilters to embellish it with lace, metallic piping or other effects to give more dimensions.  The feather spray has NINE tones of fabric that are echoed within the Flutter and the Fairy Wings.  The feathers can also be flipped and reversed to create an 'urn', corner, swag or quilting outline.
What else would a bride have but roses?  Again there are nine shades of fabric listed for the full blown roses that nestle in either the single or double feather swirl.  Quilters may mix and match the colors to suit themselves and of course, create their own bouquets.
The dress is extremely easy to do and trims of lace, pearls or even sequins may be added.

750-7  The July Star Spangled Fairy Wreath
Hey! look this one over!  She's ready to lead the parade!  Spark up your Fairy projects with this little one who is just brimming with attitude and pizzazz!  Of course you can omit the hat and the curved portions of her wings for a really unique look!  The lapels of her jacket even can be removed.  This little gal has shorts on but can also wear a more 'demure' skirt if you choose!
The wreath itself is one that Margo really likes and it is extremely adaptable too!  Sections may be shortened or lengthened, create curves, arc's, gazebo's and more!
Flowers, whether you like the 'whirligig's' or the 'sparklers' are great with the two toned leaves.  Arrange them into wonderful bouquets and even (if you change the colors) a gorgeous snowflake!

750-8 The August Foxy Fairy Wreath
This month's fairy has been out playing in the foxtail weeds and we caught her!  She's looking over her shoulder to see if quilters will be mad at her for spreading all those fuzzy weeds in their sewing rooms too!
Quilters are going to have so much fun with this month's Fairy Wreath!  Our fairy has THREE hair styles and you may change the shading of her figure to create a full backed dress with a collar, add a skirt and so much more!
The flowers are very adaptable too with single or two toned petals and extremely easy leaves.  The Wreath has only one template so create arches, 'boats' of flowers and more.
Our "Flutter" this month is a classic Monarch and very detailed!  This one is definitely for fusing!

750-9 The "Erte" Fairy Wreath
If you love Art Deco and the many works of the artist Erte, then you'll love the September Fairy!  With two hair styles, long and short 'drapes', a short version of her tunic and a longer one, quilters are going to have a wonderful time creating their own, unique projects.
The wreath itself could be a stand alone design as it is comprised of just two templates that may be twisted and turned into star bursts, braids, arc's, and borders with or without the 'deco' flowers.  The flowers may be combined to create three, four, six or even eight petal flowers and are wonderful in 'jewel' tones.
Our flutter this month has exquisite detail!  As he echoes our Fairy wings, you may want to consider using fusible techniques, fabric paint or even embroidery to create all of his wonderful details.

750-10 The October Fairy Wreath
Oh, our fairy this month is all decked out to go Trick R' Treating and even has her 'bat-terfly' all primed for treats!
Quilters are going to have a lot of fun with this months Fairy as she has two hair styles, a separate vest, and two lengths of skirt as well as a hat and of course, a broom!  Whether you 'dress' her as a gypsy in lots of different fabrics, or create a coordinated outfit, you'll have fun!
Quilters asked for a more ornate wreath and Margo came up with this one that is inspired by all the wrought iron work in New Orleans!  The segments may be rearranged in so many different ways that we could only show three versions here but rest assured that this could be a strong performer as a stand alone design!
The 'bat-erfly' is a delight!  Larger than other 'flutters' he's ready to swoop down on unsuspecting Fairies for a share of their treats!

750-11 The November Fairy Wreath
Yes, Margo's Fairies can really fly!  This month's fairy is just full of mischief and simply wouldn't dress up as a Pilgrim, Native American or anything else to celebrate Thanksgiving and the flutter wouldn't play 'turkey' either.  Margo caught Miss-Chief  just as she was escaping too, leaping out of her unique wreath with her Fall Leaf Wings to go hide with the trolls!
Quilters are going to have a wonderful time with our Fairy and the wreath could be a wonderful stand alone design as the bars weave back and forth.  The flowers are exceptionally adaptable to create bouquets, swags and other arrangements and the petals may even be used to give the 'flutter' different wings if desired.

750-12 The December Snowflake Fairy Wreath
She loves winter and dancing with snowflakes!  Even the coldest days don't bother our "Snowflake Fairy" and her 'snow flutter' so quilters will have plenty of fun during the season as they decorate our fairy, her costumes, the wreaths and especially her wings!  There are three different sets!
This month the wreath is actually two and both are easy to do especially with fusible techniques!  The snowflakes actually break down into individual candles and flames too so that the number of different swags, corners and motifs that can be made increases dramatically.
