Reputed to be the home of Sir Ector and later Sir Kay, this ancient Roman Fort (the square outline and behind the farm buildings) is the site where Merlin left the infant Arthur to be raised to young manhood.  While on the surface this appears far fetched there may be a grain of truth hidden here.  Vortigern most certainly used the existing Roman forts and around them were small towns that had grown up to cater to the needs of the military.  While Sir Ector probably had a more remote home as well, it is possible that he, Kay or Cei and Arthur visited this and other towns or cities in the area to trade.  Merlin would have seen this perhaps as a way to familiarize Arthur with Roman forts and construction as well as political views.
